Picknicker

Picknicker invites underage youths with refugee experience to playful excursions in Karlsruhe. The picnic blanket is at the heart of the project—used, transformed, and staged to explore new surroundings. Moments are captured on an iPad, creating a visual record of experiences and personal contributions. Through creative activities, the youths engage actively with their environment, taking a break from the waiting and uncertainty in their daily lives. The blanket becomes flag, backdrop, table, or canvas—always a link, a stage, and an invitation to come together.

Picknicker is a project by the mediation collective fort-da, with the concept and implementation by Sanne Pawelzyk.
